Dear sisters and all other members of the Providence Family in the world,

We are approaching to celebrate another anniversary of the Incarnation of our Lord and we are waiting His second Coming! May this Christmas be for you all of Peace, of Joy, of Love and of Hope! In our previous letter we had expressed our preoccupation concerning the big number of illiterate people in Plassac. Today we are happy to give you the good news that 15 women have responded to our invitation for adult education classes and are proud of their progress!Sr Eugenie takes the responsibility of this project.

Providentially we got a new project named: “WATER WITH BLESSINGS”. It is born in Honduras, (Central America), when an American Health Team who was visiting them every year, noticed that the contaminated water was the cause of most of the death . A Religious, member of the Team, started a project with the local women, to have filtered water, “WATER WITH BLESSINGS”, which is now spread in 36 countries.

imgWe were privileged to have this project offered to us by the same Team. A couple of the same Team from USA came to Plassac to explain everything about the Project and to give us the formation and all the material. They were with us from 21st to 25th November. They provided the special buckets with filters. It is a commitment to enter in a ministry of Love. We have prepared 24 women who are named “Mistresses of water”. They are from 8 villages, 3 mistresses from each village. Before selecting them we had a meeting with the responsible persons of different committees, and religions. And they proposed the names of the women capable and respected by the locality, and who know to write and read. Because these selected women have to give the formation and conduct the meetings with all those who will be in the project. They also have the responsibility to maintain the spirit of the project. Sr. Eva accompanies this project.

After the hurricane Mathew which has devastated the south of Haiti, we have collaborated with a group of women of Plassac to prepare enriched flours and vitamins with natural nutritional elements namely wheat, sweet potatoes, Banana , pumpkins etc…to send to the people who are starving andin utter poverty.

imgThey asked us to prepare some more mixture of vitamins with dried leaves of Tapioca, Moringua, Sweet potato, etc…. To get these leaves in large quantity we have motivated the students of our catholic school who responded to this need wholeheartedly. During 3 days they were reaching the school with plenty of fresh leaves. For us this was a good witness of solidarity by the students even those of the Nursery. The group of women worked together to clean, dry and make powder of these dried leaves to add to the mixture of different flours. We were happy to send 250 kilos of nutritional flours and vitamins to the affected people by cyclone.  Sr Mary Augustine conducted this program.

LWholeheartedly we wish to all of you a Joyful Christmas and a Grace filled Year 2017.

Your Missionary sisters at Plassac
